Eight Questions With Debbie

I met Debbie at the Change Your Chain event this past Friday. Despite just meeting me she agreed to answer questions for my website, which I have featured here. Thanks again Debbie!

Also, I’ve added links to my favourite blogs at the right side of the website. Feel free to check them out.

Question: Who are your role models?
Answer: My role model is God. I try and live my life how he would want me too. By following the ten commandments and thinking about what he would want me to do in a situation.

Q: What are your dreams for the future?
A: I would love to go back to school for medical admin. I just reached a few of my goals by getting back working and joining the Kiwanis Club. I would also love to get married and have a family of my own one day. :)

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I love to read. Any romance books and I also love teen books. Harry Potter is my all time favourite series. I love swimming and going for walks. I also love watching movies and hanging out with friends.

Q: Are any of your activities limited by your illness?
A: I have to watch not too over do it physically or stress myself out too much. It seems when I do either of those things I tend to get flair ups with my Fybro. I also tend to stress out real easy it seems!

Q: Where does your information about your illness come from?
A: I get the majority of my medical information from my family doctor. He has been really helpful these last few years and very approachable. I also tend to do research of my own on the internet!

Q: Does having fibromyalgia limit your relationships?
A: Not really. At least not that I know of. I know when I was depressed a lot of my friends tended to not want to be around me. They also told me to get over it!

Q: Do you have any fears about your illness?
A: Yeah, that I will have a relapse of the depression. But at least now I have more skills and resources to deal with it differently. I also know what not to do and what to do.

Q: If you’re feeling stressed, what helps you relax the most?
A: My ultimate stress buster is playing yahtzee with my mom. We have been doing this for a couple of years now. It is also good mother daughter time. :) I also love to read and watch movies on my own, or shopping.
